Jama Masjid of Bijapur is a mosque in the Indian state of Karnatak. It was built by Ali Adil Shah I (1558-1580) in the year 1578 after the victory over Vijaya Nagara at the Battle of Rakkasagi – Tangadagi in Talikoti in 1565.

Also known as Jamiya Masjid and Jumma Masjid, the mosque is one of the largest mosques in South India. Ali Adil Shah built it I (1558-1580) in 1578 after the victory over Vijaya Nagara at the Battle of Rakkasagi – Tangadagi in Talikoti 1565. Set in a perfect square of 1,16,300 sq. ft. 2250 to 2500 persons can offer prayers at a stretch. The Central Mihrab on the western wall is inscribed with lines from the Holy Quran. This inscription was completed in 1676 by Malik Yakut under orders from Sultan Muhammad Adil Shah. Bijapur has many domed monuments Jamiya Masjid's dome is one of the finest domes of all. Bijapur, officially known as Vijayapura, is the district headquarters of Bijapur District of Karnataka state. The district is bounded by Solapur district on the North and Sangali on the North-West, Belgaum district on the West, Bagalkot on the South, Gulbarga on the East, and Raichur South-East.
