The Barid Shahi rulers were influential patrons of culture, architecture, and the arts, and their tombs reflect the grandeur of Indo-Islamic architecture. The tombs exhibit a mix of Persian, Islamic, and local Deccan architectural styles, with large domes, ornate arches, and intricate stucco work. The use of black basalt stone gives these tombs a striking appearance. The tomb of Ali Barid Shah I is particularly notable for its large dome, surrounded by smaller domes, and its beautifully decorated interior, which once featured tile work and floral motifs. Though now in ruins, the tomb's garden was once a lush charbagh (four-part garden), a symbol of paradise in Islamic architecture.
