Jama Masjid, Leh is the biggest masjid in Leh, Laddakh.

Reckoned to be the biggest mosque in Ladakh, Jama Masjid is situated in the heart of Leh City. The mosque is the symbol of an agreement between Mughals and the Ladakhi King, Deldan Namgyal. According to the settlement, the Mughals were to protect Ladakh for a small fee. This one of the main attractions in Leh is situated in the main bazaar and is a must-see piece of art. It is adorned with intricate carvings and houses a memorial known as Shahi Hamdan which is dedicated to Mir Syed Ali Hamdani, a Muslim Sufi Saint. The mosque is, however, only open to men. The history of Jama Masjid in Leh states that it was constructed in 1666-67 as the symbol of the agreement between the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and Ladakhi King, Deldan Namgyal.
