One of the many impressive historical monuments is the very striking Nizamabad Fort. The Nizamabad Fort was constructed on the top of a small hill located somewhat to the southwest of the town during the 10th century AD. The kings of the ancient dynasty, Rashtraputha, built this amazing citadel during their absolute control over these areas. The Fort's head is about 300 meters high. A number of rulers enjoyed their authority over this awe-inspiring construction because of the constant change of ruling power in the area. So, the control of the Fort had been in the hands of different rulers from a list of dynasties. It was conquered by the forces of Alauddin Khilji lead by Malik Kafur, and became a vassal state then was assimilated into the Delhi Sultanate,then later Bahmani and Qutb Shahi
