Hazrat Syed Salar Masood Ghazi Miyan Alaihirhaman is known by the common man as Bale Miyan. Every year in the month of Jyeshtha (Jeth) a fair is held in Bahrampur where devotees from far off places and nearby areas come in large numbers. On the main day of the fair which lasts for a month, devotees offer Palang Peedhi, Kanuri etc. and make wishes. This fair is considered an example of the Ganga-Jamuni culture of Purvanchal. Every year the ritual of marriage is celebrated in the form of Palang Peedhi. According to historical evidence, Hazrat Syed Salar Masood Ghazi Miyan Alaihirhaman is from the twelfth generation of the fourth Caliph of Deen-e-Islam Hazrat Ali Radillahu Anhu. Ghazi Miyan's father's name was Ghazi Hazrat Syed Sahu Salar. He was a commander in the army of Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi. Seeing the military exploits of Sahu Salar, the Sultan married his sister Sitar-e-Moalla to him. When Sayyed Sahu Salar was besieging a fort in Ajmer, Ghazi Miyan was born on 15 February 1015 AD. He recited Bismillah at the age of four years and four months. He received education in Fiqh and Tasawwuf by the age of nine. He was a great scholar. He was very brave. He was martyred between Asr and Maghrib on 14 Rajab 423 Hijri (at a very young age). He always looked at people with the same eyes. He did good to everyone. His blessings continue even after leaving this world. His Mazar Sharif is in Bahraich Sharif. Devotees built a symbolic Mazar in Gorakhpur hundreds of years ago. Which is registered in the Waqf department. The locality Ghazi Rauza is also situated in the name of Ghazi Miyan.
