The Takya of Kamli Shah, also known as Kala Mahal, is a historical monument located in Mehrauli, New Delhi, the monument dates back approximately 500 years, placing its origins in the era of the Mughal Empire, particularly the time of Emperor Jehangir. The structure name after famous woman Kamli Shah who lived during the period of Bahadur Shah Zafar II, a young woman who chose the life of a mendicant or ascetic, dedicating herself to spiritual pursuits. It is believed that her story and legacy gave the site its name. Today, the Takya of Kamli Shah stands in a state of disrepair, with much of its original architectural charm and historical significance slowly fading due to neglect.
